The inspiration for this painting came from a trip to the Isle of White. Strolling along the beach at St Helens we noticed several egrets wading in amongst the rocks and seaweed looking for food. Seagulls were happily joining in and I thought how lucky we were to see them so close.  Last year I entered the painting into the exhibition of "Landscapes of the Isle of White" Ventnor. I was delighted when it was awarded 3rd prize, which was presented by Alan Titchmarch.
