Although I had believed in the existence of Jesus I hadn't realised that he had died for me. That at his resurrection he had defeated death and is alive today, interceding on my behalf to God the Father.

Now I know that my claim to being a Christian can only be based on this belief.

Because God is love, he wants everyone to be saved and live for eternity with him. But only someone without sin can go to heaven, and as there is no-one without sin in their lives this would be impossible

God loves us so much that he sent his only Son who had committed no sin, to die in our place so that we could be reconciled with Him. But God doesn't force himself on us. He has given us free will. Painting of a child praying
